- What's the difference between web hosting and a VPS?
- With web hosting you share a server with other customers. With a VPS you get a guaranteed slice of a physical server, with your own memory, CPU and storage. You have more control, better performance, and you don't share resources with other customers. With a Managed VPS we handle the server management for you.
- What does "Managed" mean?
- Managed means we handle server management: security updates, monitoring, performance tuning and troubleshooting. You only need to worry about your website or application. Prefer full control yourself? We can also discuss unmanaged options.
- Do I get root access?
- By default no, because we manage the server. But if you need root access for specific installations or configurations, we can arrange that. Contact us to discuss the options.
- Can I upgrade my VPS?
- Yes. Need more memory, CPU or storage? We often arrange that without downtime. Our technicians plan the upgrade and apply the change at a time that suits you.
- What if I need a very specific configuration?
- No problem. Our custom configuration track is for situations where a standard plan isn't enough. You describe what you need, we put together a server that fits perfectly.
- Do you make backups?
- Yes, all Managed VPS plans include daily backups. In case of issues we can quickly restore an earlier snapshot. On request we can also arrange extra backup frequencies or off-site backups.
